The Western Australian Fishing Industry Council (WAFIC) is the peak industry body representing the commercial fishing , pearling and aquaculture industries.


Based on a renewable resource, the industry generates an estimated $400 million for the State’s economy each year.


Western Australia’s professional fishermen harvest and supply seafood to the eight out of ten members of the community who buy the majority of their seafood, to the hospitality sector and to service a profitable export market.

The industry works under strict regulation and in partnership with government to ensure the sustainability of our fisheries.
